Biography

The band was founded in Chemnitz, Germany in 2010 by the mechanical engineering and sport students Tobias Olijnyk, Fabrice Töpfer, Sebastian Grihm and Vitalis Kast. Already since the first steps they took on the challenge to play Brutal Death Metal with a catchy note and a special topic. They didn’t just want to draw the attention on them through musical craftmanship and a strong live performance but also set there aims in being different from the other local bands: So CYTOTOXIN was born – and with that also the idea to addict the work of the band to the profound incident of the reactor explosion of Chernobyl in 1986. It took about half a year to write the material for the debut CD “Plutonium Heaven”. It was recorded and mixed all by themselves in January 2011 and later mastered by MEGAWIMP STUDIO in Berlin. After a successfull self – release in april 2011 and an outstanding live season 2011 (with bands like Deicide, Belphegor, Graveworm) including lots of stage – circle pits it was clear that it has to be continued highly professional!

So they put in a lot of time and effort to write new songs and the daily exercises on their instruments were raised rapidly. For all members the band became like a second job next to there academic studies. In April 2012 they produced the yet unreleased follower “RADIOPHOBIA” in Kohlekeller Studios in Hessen (bands like Benighted, Powerwolf, Crematory) together with Kristian “Kohle” Kohlmannslehner. For 2012 tons of gigs and a tour through germany, festivals like (Rock im Betonwerk, In Flammen) as well as gigs in the Ukraine, Denmark and Netherlands are planned. CYTOTOXIN currently looks for a label to release “RADIOPHOBIA” in 2012.
